La Leche League (LLL) is an International non-denominational, non-sectarian, apolitical and non-profit organization founded to give information and encouragement, mainly through personal support, to all mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. While complementing the care of the physician and other health care professionals, La Leche League recognizes the unique importance of one mother helping another to perceive the needs of her child and to learn the best means of fulfilling those needs.
La Leche League Leaders (LLL Leaders) are breastfeeding mothers who have gone through a rigorous accreditation process and once accredited are responsible for staying current with the latest breastfeeding information, research and management techniques. Volunteers, LLL Leaders adhere to LLL Philosophy, and balance family needs with the needs of the mothers they serve.
Leaders organize monthly Mother-to-Mother Breastfeeding Information, Encouragement & Support Meetings where breastfeeding and mothering experience can be shared. Each group has a lending-library that has a wide-array of books and documentation on breastfeeding, mothering, and other related topics. LLL Switzerland Members are able to borrow materials from the Lending Library at no cost to them.
La Leche League Suisse-Romande offers English Mother-to-Mother Support Meetings in Nyon.
